Rotting Chirist es una de mis bandas favoritas dentro del Black Metal (mi favorita, tal vez, solo después de Emperor) por ello hablar de los griegos para mi siempre es un deleite y un honor, esta ocasión tomaremos la obra "Genesis" ya que se cumplen 19 años de su lanzamiento.
ROTTING CHRIST llevan activos desde 1987 y su primer trabajo de larga duración salió en 1993, es una banda ya consolidada y con un sonido muy propio, no suenan a cualquier banda de Black metal, ya que han agregado toques Death, Melodic e incluso Grindcore a sus respectivos álbumes, por ende, al escucharlos sabes que se trata de ROTTING CHRIST.
"Genesis" cuenta con una portada magnífica, poderosa y parece que fue diseñada en el mismo infierno, cuenta con 10 canciones que dan una duración de 51 minutos, el comienzo de la obra es "Daemons" y desde el comienzo sabes que estará lleno de poder y brutalidad.
El bajo tiene muchísima presencia, las guitarras tienen mas potencia y ni que decir esa combinación casi perfecta de los hermanos Tolis, entre la batería, la guitarra y la voz.
"Lex Talionis" segunda canción del álbum, introduce unos coros que te llevan por un viaje entre sonidos que podrían ser evangélicos o bien de algún tipo de ritual, una belleza para meterle todo ese misticismo y grietas melódicas al mismo tiempo que agregan una obscuridad ambiental.
Lo curioso es que es el trabajo más infravalorado de los griegos, tal vez por que tienen obras maestras que opacan un poco éste trabajo, pero eso no quiere decir que sea malo, al contrario, es una obra poderosa y llena de fuerza.
Para mi es un álbum muy disfrutable, no es mi favorito ni una de sus mejores obras ( tratando de ser lo más objetivo posible) pero es altamente recomendable y un trabajo por el cual, si a estas alturas no conoces a ROTTING CHRIST bien podrías empezar por el.
Para un servidor es un 8.5 a 9, poderoso, melodioso, obscuro y con toda la esencia de ROTTING CHRIST!!
