El pasado 19 de noviembre los finlandeses SWALLOW THE SUN nos presentaron "Moonflowers" una obra de 8 canciones con una duración de 52 minutos y lanzado por Century Media Records.
Comenzando a hablar de la portada, es buena pero lo interesante no es el arte como tal, si no el fondo e historia de la misma, ya que, como muchos saben, el 2016 fue un antes y un después para SWALLOW por el terrible hecho de que la mente maestra, guitarrista y líder de SWALLOW THE SUN el señor Juha Raivio perdió a su compañera de vida, la también musico y con la cual formo TREES OF ETERNITY, me refiero a Aleah Stanbridge al perder su lucha contra el cáncer. Toda esta historia tiene mucho que ver, ya que después de tan terrible acontecimiento, Juha se aislo durante meses para enfrentar el dolor y logrando en el 2019 un álbum lleno de melancolía, el hermoso "When A Shadow Is Forced Into The Light" pero después de ese álbum, se detuvieron todos los temas artísticos hasta que Juha pudiera sanar y encontrarse a si mismo. Ustedes se preguntaran, y todo esto ¿Qué tiene que ver con el nuevo trabajo? bueno pues Juha al sanar, entro al estudio y nos trae una álbum con una portada hecha por el mismo, donde la luna la pinto con su propia sangre y la decoración son las flores que había guardado desde la partida de su amada.
Al saber lo anterior, vamos con lo musical, lo cuál sigue por la senda de la melancolía, las emociones y sentimientos de su fundador, pero ahora un poco más dirigidas hacia si mismo, para poder aceptar la realidad.
El trabajo es bueno, pero lejos de ser la mejor obra de SWALLOW, se disfruta y te deja con un mar de emociones, pasajes musicales hermosos y bien colocados, la voz del señor Mikko suena excelente y más pulida que en otros trabajos.
En general, es un álbum bien logrado pero hasta ahí, nada impresionante, es un 8 a 8.5 ya que lo disfrute pero no encontré la complejidad o las experimentaciones que han tenido en otros trabajos.
